As one of 10 protected nature parks in Croatia, Lake Vrana and its beauty will overwhelm you. In addition to the fact that Lake Vrana is the largest natural lake in Croatia, its biodiversity and ornithofauna are magnificently rich to say at least. There's more than 250 different species of birds that call Lake Vrana its home resulting in a habitat for more than one thousand waterbirds. If you want to explore Croatia's impressive biodiversity, this is the place for you.
The adventure continues with workshops in which you can learn all about olive oil tradition in Dalmatia and take part in its production and also get to know the way of life of the local population.
Above Lake Vrana stands the historical town of Vrana, which had its golden period during the Middle Ages when it was renowned as the first embassy of the Vatican in the area of today's Croatian territory. During your visit, take a look at two important archaeological sites in Vrana: firstly, there are remains of Old Templar Fort where symbols of the Croatian kingdom (the crown and sceptre) were held and secondly there's Maškovića Han, historical Turkish inn from the Ottoman period which was reconstructed last year.
For all hopeless romantics we offer a visit to the hill Kamenjak, the highest viewpoint in Vrana with panoramic telescope of the entire surrounding area including the town of Pakoštane, Lake Vrana and the Adriatic Sea with islands. On the viewpoint there is also lunch (not included in the price).
